Menial work in Somalia pays shit not to mention the sun which is unapologetically melting

it’s easier to work in a colder environment

The 'menial' work is what builds the foundation of a country which is infastructure and agriculture, you wont have a country without this not even a home to live in.

Its a great start for a person as it builds discipline, strenght, health and appreciation, because we as a culture look down on this, it explains our poor work ethic regardless were we live in the world.

Its why we have the least paved roads in the world and rank the worst in the corruption index for several decades, and every other metric; pride of course comes before fall.

I am grateful that in my early years I lived in a quiet village somewhere in Europe far away from Somali's and their toxic believes, so these despicable ideas never took root.

It's beyond me that some Somalis think they're above menial jobs. I get it for the ones with university degrees, but it's not like they all have degrees. This is the problem with sending money back home—it creates arrogance.

We need people with university degrees, and we need people to do back-breaking labor. Both are important for society, but thinking you're above menial jobs in a third-world country is beyond me
