Dadaab refugee camp set to become a Kenyan city

Garissa Admin should take advantage of the size of this camp to gain a larger budget for the county. The higher the counted population,the bigger the funding from the Kenyan government. Any Ogaden willing to go back to Jubaland should be assisted in doing so. OGs make up majority of Hagdera & Dhagaxley camps and a sizable strength in Ifo. Majority of the people getting kipanda & Visas to America & Europe are Ogaden that’s why many of them are in the camps not because they are refugees but because they are looking for quick opportunity. My family in Dadaab have a lot of camels and goats and we are allowed to pasture our livestock by Cawlyahan tribe and all the way to Liboi where the border with Maxamed zuber starts. the minority Non OG Somalis in the camps they are mostly Xamaali & carpenters doing jobs the Geeljire locals don’t want to do.

I have a lot family in Dadaab Hagardheer, the Majority is OG especially Awliyahan, is not even close. But you will also see a lot of Harti waamo people there as well.

@Abaq I hope this fails and the Kenyan parliament vetoes it. Garissa cannot be allowed to become like Lower Juba. Homogenity must be preserved at all costs.

I don't want Garissa to become a contested region between various clans. I want Garissa to remain 95% Ogaden. It is not in my interest to have the Darod proportion of Garissa's population decline.

I think these refugees should be given the resources and aid necessary to have them return to their lands in Koonfur Galbeed and Jubaland. Turning Garissa into a multi-clan region is not the solution and would be harmful to the future political stability of Garissa.
