There are roughly 6 to 10 major towers that shape the cityscape of Jakarta in this image. Dahab Tower should be the first of several commercial towers that will shape the cityscape of Mogadishu in a major way.
I was recently watching a video of a Somali digital nomad that had relocated to Cairo, and was renting a large spacious mansion for like $1200 while many others have relocated to Dubai, Doha and other cities. The same could happen for Somali cities, which is why projects like Dahab Tower should be welcomed.
The fact that 65% of its commercial and private spaces were already filled two years ago with local tenants and businesses justifies more towers and projects of this scale. Dahab will be as iconic for Mogadishu as the Petronas Towers were Kuala Lumpur;

what I wonder is, will they buy up the surrounding area and turn it like in the rendered pics. Or it will be a tower literally surrounded by jengaads

They're going to pave the roads of course. They already built a road going to it if I'm not wrong. It'll be like Daarusalaam I hope with nice pavements around it.
