The government that sits in Mugdisho is the only lawful entity that can give somaliland independence. Ethiopia would be breaking international law if it splits Somalia apart so there is no need to have a hostile relationship with Ethiopia over something they have no control on. Remember Ethiopia is not the USA that can break international laws when it feels it's in it's best interest to divert from the straight & narrow.

Ethiopia is backed by the AU, if Ethiopia recognizes your state as a nation, the AU would start dealing with Somaliland as a separate country. This will than allow Somaliland to display their nationhood to the west, which of course will be beneficial for the state. Ethiopia seeks division, why would it ally itself with a state the federal government considers illegitimate? Why would Ethiopia deal with the Landers if it doesn't seek division. That being said, why doesn't Ethiopia support the Ogaden and Oromo liberation front just as it supports Somaliland?

The events that occurred between SNM and gudabirsi is personal dir business. We have every right to dicipline our little dir cousins anytime they snake the family by siding with outsiders like Siad barre.

Everyone in Somalia is allied to Ethiopia though

Puntland is allied to Ethiopia and so is the federal government so why should we feel guilty for being Ethiopia's oldest and most capable somali ally
