This dam can sustain a 10 hectare farm (about 25 acres) for 3 months according to wassim whilst there are hundreds of hectares of farm in the jubba/shabelle basin.
Still an excellent project that can sustain water shortages during the dry season and future droughts.
They should build a network of these dams and better yet, build covered resovoirs which may cost more due to extra materials and labour required but will mitigate water lost via evaporation.

If all of that water is captured in the rainy season, that would provide at least 5 million people water each day and 500,000 ha of irrigated land, if not much more.
