The Meeladeen dam, which will be one of the biggest dams, is in its final stage as well
It's done by a local engineers. The knowledge is there.
They should fence of the reservoirs of these dams so that that the filth of tens of thousands of animals don't make the water unusable after a few days. Have them drink from troughs downstream from the dams. If they are not fenced off, they may become disease hotspots.

The biggest will hold about 18000 cubic meters of water. That is not a huge amount, but it is free water for decades to come, and is very sustainable. No need for diesel generators, just build it and forget it. It creates a new source of resilience for when times become very tough.
To give you a perspective, 18000 cubic meters is how much water the Juba river dumps in the Indian Ocean every 1.6 minutes.

180,000 cubic meters is very huge for a sand dam! They really were being truthful when they said Bandar Beyla was a trial run. This is absloulty great for Bari. I can't wait until dams are built on the big toggs in Qandala district.
The biggest future dam is still the one on the Nugaal in Eyl district, that will be bigger than all others.

Great development, a few more of these and our water trucking problem will be more easily solved. Instead of having to truck water from far away wells, you can truck it from a nearby dam.
