Why religion? you don’t need religion to know your biology non Muslim societies 100 year ago were doing great the prophet (saw) and khadija were married before even Islam and in a time of paganism. Gender roles still exist outside of Somalia and in other less religious and equally poor societies. The same way you don’t need religion to tell you homosexuality is wrong it’s instinctive it goes against your biology and fitra.
Doing great sis?
In the West before law and protection for women, you couldn't inherit, have your own money, have custody of your own kids, only work available if you had no man to provide would be maid, factory work, prostitution or if lucky a governess. No education as they they thought that went against 'biology'. Oh and your husband could beat and sexually abuse you. Oh and he could kick you out with no 'law' to protect you.
I definitely believe that men and women are different, however men in the past would use your different biology to stip you off your human rights.
Things for women outside of law is dire. Islam gives women rights, however these rights in many Muslim societies, especially poor ones are not implemented. Why? Because some men would often dehumanise women to such an extent that you are undeserving of having anything.
