Just in pure numbers Al kabaab has anywhere from 7-8 k soldiers to 15-20 k according to some estimates. Daacish in PL had 500 soldiers as of 2024.
Al kabaab has a more effective overall organization, they have spies all over the country, money and certain more equipment. I totally agree that the FHA is corrupt and this hinders the fight against Al kebab but still you can't compare this to Daacish in PL who have been hiding in the mountain for years

What I don’t get is why some southern clans can’t unite to free shabab from their regions or amongst themselves. HG subs are constantly engaging in clan wars, if they have time and energy for war, why can’t they direct this energy to sh*bab? The South's lack of accountability is why this situation has spiralled out of control. It is now normalised for your ancestral lands to be controlled by sh*bab, and your fellow clan members to be represented in the sh*bab hierarchy.

Shabaab is super weak. People love making excuses for them.

Yeah I remember Shabab in 2016 assault on PL coastline, no joke they dedicated all they had and PL wrapped it up in a week and put them into khawarij shire(Gaal Shire) and sent the young ones home only for them to be caught again doing the same thing.

I thought a dambiile was called a gaal and they congregated in gaal shire, standards were much more noble back then, u wud be dealt with immediately. A Gaal is someone who is just downright anti peace and just causes fitnah in old somali, it wasn't till colonial period it meant white folks or non Somalis, it included Somalis. It was a non Islamic trait to behave like a shaydhan. Only killing n stealing were known crimes in Somalia they didn't know all the fitnah exported from colonial period. If u committed a crime outside cultural context I'm pretty sure u wud be labelled gaal back in the old days.
