I dont think it means advice thats not how the word is used in somali. More like emphasize or challenge or reprimand. Like to get the point across. I mean this word is not new to me ive been using it / hearing it all my life its only today the topic came up about its translation to english since a guy didnt know it
a) 'Valediction' at one's departure dispensing with counsel and guidance of what to do in one's absence ( widaac is also used by the literati),
b) 'Will' one leaves behind post one's passing ( 'wisaayad' is also used by poets ).
c) There is 'dardaar weri / werin / waris', which entails admonition, caution, or warning one of dire, adverse consequences of one's actions, which I trust is what you might be thinking of.
