The regular advice like listen to reciter whilst you are memorising, memorise in chunks etc. Putting effort in will pay off
What i do personally because i'm learning arabic is i use the translation, and also the word by word translation, you can use on quran.com for computer or "Al Quran (Tafsir & by Word)" for mobile. It looks like this 1744314597218.png And it is helpful because i learn the meaning of the ayah while i memorise, which is good for knowing what youre reading, but also because if you forget the ayah you can remember the meaning sequence and then remember the ayah sequence based on that.

Also consistency like a gym grind, its called xaafidow not xasuusow, if you dont practice you will forget. I just finished juz tabarak and already forgot half :meleshame:

And listen to a reciter you like, dont force yourself to listen to xusary macalin mode with the little girl respond audio, But ofcourse if you need help with tajwiid xusary is always on standby

Give me some tips for memorisation please I’m struggling πŸ™πŸΎ
What's better memorization or understand what you're reading ? this is the problem I have with our people. They would memorize the Quran but not understand it and not act as they should with one another. The Quran that I have is English translation Quran The message of the Quran. Translated my Professor Dr. Syed Vickar Ahmed.

Ideally you do both, but agree better to memorize and understand 1 juz. Than memorize 30 and not understand anything

Theres this website from the early 2000s called House of Quran http://www.houseofquran.com/ and its honestly so good to use as its specifically built for memorising. This was the first ever tool I used to memorise juz amma and tabarak as a kid. Dash it on husary 2 and put the same ayah on repetition using the tools. If your memorising from juz amma put it on El Gamal

nowadays these quran apps try make you β€œpay” for the same thing this website does. Anyway this website is a gem and sadly hasnt been updated from 2010. However its still one of the best and underrated websites to use for memorisation

Edit: I emailed them and asked them to update the website to give tafsir. If they do its game over for all the quran memorisers. Im going to break all standards and memorise it ALL in 6-12 months

I used to go Saturday and Sunday, and I hated it to so much. Imagine going ski Monday to Friday only to have your weekend wasted like that. Worst thing was I used to love playing football so much if I had spent my time at a club I probably coulda been pro by now. No fear to incentivise learning + not seeing the purpose of the work= nothing getting achieved.

When I was on my alif ba ta stage, I had a Somali odey with 3 fingers be my macalin. I would do alif wax maleh and if I messed up he would pinch me with 3 fingers. I was scared, but not bc of the pain but because his hands scared me 😭😭

I reached till around Suratul Qasas, and I stopped going to dugsi sadly. On weekends, I read with my little brother to retain my knowledge. A lot is very fuzzy, sadly, but If I read a surah for a bit, I can remember.

Tips for memorization would be to stay consistent 100%... You don't need to memorize 2 pages a day like some kids. Just try to read something every day, even if you aren't memorizing new verses. Without consistency, you won't remember much, but Salah gives you many opportunities to read.

When memorizing, try to go by lines. And if it's a surah with shorter ayahs, try to memorize the ayahs 1 by 1 until you reach the end of the line. Then combine the ayahs. Same process with the next line., then combine lines 1 and 2. You can do this for as long as you see fit but if you try to fit a lot of info in your head at once, you won't remember. Just take it nice and easy. Without consistency though you won't be able to remember much.

the furthest I made it to was the third juz at thirteen in Egypt, but then my Quran Teacher stopped coming and then we left Egypt and came back to London, so I stopped doing Quran and eventually forgot everything, I’m gonna be honest I’m way to lazy to memorise the whole Quran.

Let’s be real by time you get to the end you’ll start forgetting other surahs you learnt memorizing it front to back once isn’t enough you have to re memorize it once or twice after that so it really sticks. At my peak I went thru like 10 juz’s but then I stopped goin cuz I started hating goin to dugsi wit a passion got into a big fight wit my moms cuz of dat told her straight up I’m not goin idc u can’t force me. Thing is the dugsi was makin me a depressed yute it was bare stress 5 days a week having to memorize or I get beat or in trouble I didn’t have no social life hobbies or any friends plus my grades were fallin too cuz to my moms dugsi took priority over school work. No lie I really hated my life dem times. The day I quit i was the happiest nigga on earth and I made a promise I will never ever take my kids to a dugsi. It’s actually fucked up looking back.
