Give me some tips for memorisation please I’m struggling

Start small and be consistent. Don’t do revision in your first memorisation attempt. Just get through it. Your true memorisation will begin after you first complete the Quran.

Did it when I was a kid and then once again with Tajweed as an adult (19).

Join a dugsi. The only way you can do it. Do a Xizb a day - in 60 days, would have memorized the Quran.

Find Quran bodies to study alongside with.

I used to go Saturday and Sunday, and I hated it to so much. Imagine going ski Monday to Friday only to have your weekend wasted like that. Worst thing was I used to love playing football so much if I had spent my time at a club I probably coulda been pro by now. No fear to incentivise learning + not seeing the purpose of the work= nothing getting achieved.

Same i never had a weekend to myself until lockdown plus I went tuition I lived far away from my dugsi as well

Let’s be real by time you get to the end you’ll start forgetting other surahs you learnt memorizing it front to back once isn’t enough you have to re memorize it once or twice after that so it really sticks. At my peak I went thru like 10 juz’s but then I stopped goin cuz I started hating goin to dugsi wit a passion got into a big fight wit my moms cuz of dat told her straight up I’m not goin idc u can’t force me. Thing is the dugsi was makin me a depressed yute it was bare stress 5 days a week having to memorize or I get beat or in trouble I didn’t have no social life hobbies or any friends plus my grades were fallin too cuz to my moms dugsi took priority over school work. No lie I really hated my life dem times. The day I quit i was the happiest nigga on earth and I made a promise I will never ever take my kids to a dugsi. It’s actually fucked up looking back.

I keep telling niggas dugsi does more harm than good y’all keep shoving Quran down ur kids throats the second they become adults they prolly won’t even touch a kitab again plus these macalins power trip way too hard. Best thing you can do is teach it to ur kid urself at home where they’re comfortable and only once a week that’s more than enough time for them to learn the whole ting after couple years. You want your kids to stick to the Quran don’t give them bad memories of it.

Im be honest once a week reading quran is not enough Theres 604 pages so to be xaafis by doing one page per week is gonna take minimum 11 years, Dugsi is needed but a good dugsi, for example the one i go to they dont hit the kids, maybe because uk they would get arrested

11yrs is bless tho shit isn’t a race fam start em off when they like 13 by 24 they’re hafiz dats not a bad age to have learnt the whole Quran I don’t trust macalins fam even if they don’t beat the kids alotta those nighas move like dickheads I don’t want next mon screaming at my kids or making them stay in squatting position for an hour fam these guys are sneaky when the parents come they act like miskeen angel. You have to know the guy proper if you hand ur kids to him then it’s bless I guess.
