Sweety u know women by nature gossip right? U do understand this. R u a tom boy? U should know this.


My one vice that i cannot fight with intellectual powers is the love of gossip. I love gossip more than Power & wealth, which is saying something

There is so much world out there other than gossip.

Sadly Gossip has been admonished in Quran, God forgive me.


In the Story of Prophet Yusuf pbuh in Quran, the wife of the leader Aziz is not open condemned as the women of the village who gossiped about her. She tried to seduce the young prophet.


The women of the village were gather to see the beauty of young Yusuf pbuh, and in the process they cut their fingers while looking at him.


The point was dont judge or gossip about the poor woman, u also might be guilt of the same.

In my area companies are building small prayer rooms for somalis. The high school lets kids hold friday prayer session as well. It helps to have large Islamic community established so the norms and the culture become familiar to the locals with the passage of time. Today, somalis in Minnesota have no to little difficulties praying at work and in public schools.

Americans generally are conservative by culture. Prayer is up there in their alley though a little explaining have to be done first before they are comfortable with your mecca facing sessions.

It is better to notify your coworkers and manager who would be impacted by your prayer breaks ahead of time, and when you are new to the job so it does not become an issue.

By law, Americans are allowed to practice their religion. Most companies do not want bad publicity and arguments over someone being barred from prayer.

It is better to work with your boss and chat about your needs. Most of them would agree to. Occassionaly there is the racist boss who ultimately gets the company into trouble by creating difficulties for people and object to their requests.

Nobody likes an argument that costs money. Companies would rather accomodate than create legal headaches for themselves.

There is no excuse for a muslim to be afraid to ask for a five minute break for prayer.

No honey u aint going to pray, every working 8 hour shift has at least one salat prayer. If u work in the day, so that will be only Dhuhur prayer.

When my rotation is set on a morning shift I usually pray zhuru, or asr. Hopefully my prayers are received tho. Lord know I'm just doining it to take a mini break..

if you work daytime hours, you only need to pray dhuhr and asr prayer at work, rest u can pray at masjid or at home. dhuhr u pray during ur lunch time, so u not using employers time. for asr, u only need 7 minutes (wudhu+salat).

I work with them lol i was going to school for nursing until i started working with them and saw the in and outs of their work.i changed to something completely different now.

As couple of ppl mentioned here already, I think being upfront with your obligatory prayer schedules with your boss is a wise move.

I have worked in different work environments and I always brought my prayers up on my first day. There is also a time when the iimaan was strong and I was at a job interview and when they asked me if I have any questions, one of the questions I asked was if there was a prayer room and whether I would have the freedom to perform prayers.

They never refused me the prayer times. My current employer tried to argue using the companies time and I told her that there was no way I was going to miss my prayers. She was very stubborn and I finally opted for a win win approach, telling her I was going to start 20 mins early during winter and I was going to take 2 10 mins break for asr and maghrib which she agreed to.

So my dear sister. Always put Allah first and he find you away out.

the thing is my manager told me anything i want to go pray i could dont have to inform anyone. its my business and work environment was full of too much drama and toxicity. In the future I"ll communicate better.

Like everyone said, you have a right to pray. Don’t let gaalo intimidate you from praying. Who knows, you’re prob the first worker they had that prays and you can be paving the way for other future Muslim coworkers. And who cares if they talk; you took “bathroom” breaks in order to avoid backlash and yet you were still questioned. These people will talk about you so might as well advocate for yourself and be truthful in who you are. You’re Muslim and you pray. No big deal. Best of luck walaashey.
