Also do you guys have any useful information on ashraaf? I looked online and saw they claim they descended from the prophet Muhammad PBUH is there any truth to that? Have they contributed anything significant to Somali history that we know about and what kind of status do they have within Somalia. I was hoping to be a politician back home so any information is much appreciated . I don’t know of any prominent Somali leaders or sultans from that tribe I thought I could get away with claiming my maternal side but that’s not gonna work out ig. Any information is much appreciated
@Garaad Awal was there not an Ashraaf on Yfull?

Ashraaf are these who belong to the house of hashim/bani hashim though everyone nowadays claim to be a bani hashim it's up to dna tests such as yfull to figure out wither you cluster with ahl al-bayt or not. If your only claim to fame is that you're bani hashim that's more than enough of a boast, you're related to the prophet ﷺ and the abbasid dynasty who ruled the islamic world for centuries. Also do you guys have any useful information on ashraaf? Take the test. We can help interpret it by seeing where your male ancestors descended from.I don’t really know much about genetics but how do I understand what the genetic test means? Are there specific haplogroups that reer xamar have that aren’t considered Somali? I know about E1b1 but I heard rahanweyn have different genetics anyway so I’m wondering how that will affect my test. Forgive me if what I say doesn’t make sense I’m new to genetic studies and tryna find out more
Does this give me special status in Somalia? How does this affect my social standing. When I asked my mum about my dads tribe she said they’re miskeen. Doesn’t really sound like a respect kinda thing more of pity. Were they targeted during the civil war? I have so many questions also what’s their status in Somalia are they sidelined and alienated from society or treated similar to the Bantu?Ashraaf are these who belong to the house of hashim/bani hashim though everyone nowadays claim to be a bani hashim it's up to dna tests such as yfull to figure out wither you cluster with ahl al-bayt or not. Why is there a bunch of European flags if he’s ashraaf is that what I should be expecting? You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The thing is in somalia what really counts is the number and size of your specific clan. The civil war was a mess for everyone but especially for smaller clans, don't think too much about it the oppressors will face allah عز وجل on the day of judgement. Somalia now is heading towards one man and one vote inshallah and the only thing you'd have to win is the battle of hearts and mind hopefully.Does this give me special status in Somalia? He connects with those Italians roughly 4000 years ago. Meaning they separated 4000 years ago from a common male ancestor. Why is there a bunch of European flags if he’s ashraaf is that what I should be expecting?
