Yes the same way Somalis used to speak Arabic heavy with Somali language as their official before but now barely

Just a light joke, i also didn’t know Eritreans spoke a little Arabic
He speaks it well, too. Bit of an accent but he doesn't really miss a beat and speaks fast.
Every Eritrean I met in my city or most of them speak arabic. Most Eritreans here are also muslim. I asked some Eritreans why all of them or most of them speak arabic and they said it's because many Eritreans go through Sudan while immigrating and learn arabic there.
Sudan and Eritrea also border each other so that might influence it also. I hear Isaias also mention Sudan, @Shimbiris translate please.

Every Eritrean Muslim family I’ve seen speaks Arabic fluently I think its because of a variety of reasons

Its the lingua franca for the Tigre, Raishda and Beja and a lot of muslim Eritreans.
It already is to my knowledge and math and science were also taught in arabic when I was there
