I think it’s interesting hearing this rhetoric that is usually heard from women. I do understand some of his points especially regarding the lack of work ethic.

But, it is important to take into account that the continent was pillaged and mentally conquered. It is sad that east Asia, a region that was much lower developmental wise in the mid 1900s has become the face of technology in just a few decades. Perhaps it is time to talk about culture rather than colonization as to why we can’t move forward.

This is a new phenomenon, historically this was not the case. If i had to guess i'd say this started to occur post colonialism for these african nations. Also i wouldnt say that they are "afraid" just uninformed

Not really I think most african fathers in the diaspora are hard working

The statistics are probably untrue for Somalia.

But the comments about work ethic and corrupt politicians apply to us severely. Also many ask Allah for help but doing nothing to help themselves.
In all honesty i believe with the current systems in place the same results will happen even with more females present in some fields, its more of a matter of human greed.

True, I think it’s more of a cultural issue rather than something gender based. I think it’s because he is comparing African men to other men so you can see the distinction between the two.

Sometimes I wish we had a harsh dictator to push these people to work or at least want something for themselves.

Definitely, just take Nigerians in the US for example, they are very hard working and among the smartest diaspora groups

I get the sentiment with wanting a dictator to straighten everyone up but most likely they themselves will exploit their powers and even their people especially if there is weak or no checks and balances and will most likely end up overthrown and the country in ruins, I think Africa itself is a prime example of dictators not being the key to success

One thing I appreciate about Somalis is their dislike of foreigners. I don’t believe they need to be racist or xenophobic to others.

But, so many African countries are comfortable allowing foreign Chinese and French to step all over them. It’s so pathetic and I appreciate that my people understand that foreigners are not a friend. Turkey might be an outlier though.

People are coping here.

It goes without saying African men are L's walking and Geeljire aren't exempt from that. Of course I'm the exception.
