Why should woman cover up is just another reason for men to put woman down and restrict their life’s . Imagine that throughout your life that when ever you go out you have to cover from head to toe and hide yourself from society lol.

But I find it hypocritical that nations that profess freedom restrict women from wearing what they want because they claim they are forced to wear certain garments. Therefore, to solve this issue, they tell women not to wear certain garments to protect their freedom.

They can wear whatever they want but in some countries is not a choice and it’s mandatory or it’s forced by cultural norms.

I don't think Niqab is forced in any nation-state but some countries claim their reason for banning it is because women get forced to wear by their male relatives.

If I am correct, it is more a cultural thing. Women wear it for further modesty. My grandmother used to wear it but has now switched to wearing hijab.

Regardless, in the western context, if a woman wants to cover herself up, she shouldn't be forced to dress less and if a woman wants to dress less, she shouldn't be forced to dress more. That's how the Western form of freedom works. If they ban a piece of clothing then its hypocritical imo.

As for women advanced in years who do not expect to marry, there will be no sin upon them if they put off their cloaks, without displaying their adornment. But it is better for them to be modest, and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.

Niqab isn't wajib btw but it can be wajib on times of fitna
