If Gaas does not hold free elections by Jan 2019, he will not be coming back. Holding elections is Puntland's only way of getting more recognition and attention from the IC. If Gaas fails at this, he is gone. Puntland will be 20 years old in 2018, we have to hold elections, to not do so is insane.

I already sense that Gaas is trying to avoid holding elections, unfortunately.

The only reason he wants entension is because he knows he isn't coming back. He won by a miracle one vote margin. As for the election, Camay already said it's impossible to hold elections. The only possibility to hold elections is to hold it in few cities and not in entire Puntland.

Gaas respects entrepreneurs and avoids lazy people looking for handouts. I just hope more Capital is available from banks to loan future startups looking to build the province without bringing in China's poorest and dumbest to make profits in Puntland.

I would only vote for the person who develops the country. But, right now there's too much cheap Chinese credit flying around Africa and its mouth watering to avoid.

The problem in Puntland is the willingness of the private sector to come together. At this rate the future of many gobols will fall into the responsibility of Somalia Own Equity funds that can return yeilds to investors. The Chinese are lending money they don't have and using it to buy Africa; it's the most incredible win-win in history and it will contribute greatly in the next major Economic correction.

What the Chinese don't want to help with is Electricity. The moment we can get electricity the sooner businesses can start jumping into the manufacturing sector.

After Abdullahi Yusuf (AUN), i dare say Gas is Puntland's greatest president. Puntland has developed immensely in the past three years this man has been in charge.

In regards to PL security and defence, Gas and his administration has been heavily criticised, which i believe is woefully unfair and not justified. Yes, there has been a massive rise in attacks by Al Shabab in his term. But that's a given when you're fighting a people hiding in a mountain ranges, and coming down on the odd occasion to throw a few grenades and shoot up a market or court house.
As for the going ons on our southern border, its a minor issue. I have no idea why some Puntites bang on about that bogus "Federal State" Galmudug all the time or any other moryaan militia or armed group. They possess no threat and danger to PL nor are they a match and our equals. The simplest and best way to deal with any annoying problems from South Galkacyo and beyond, is to simply close the border. When the border was closed off some time ago, there were literally no more attacks of any kind and no assassinations. It was a very effective plan. And if things become a nuisance again, simply close the border.

All in all, as someone with sense from a small clan, i believe Gas has beem fantastic, he's done a good job. Once again, Cumar Maxamuuds achieving soo much. Hope a Ciisa never gets elected as PL President. All they'll do is never leave Garowe and focus solely on Nuugal, they are a very self-entitled people, thinking the world owes them something.
