Oh yeah! Colonial leftovers are well and truly visible in India.I just wanted to know do u see a colonial legacy left over, I've noticed where-ever the commonwealth they were pillaged, looted, and disenfranchised and not invested into by the british. For example the mind-set of Kikuyu and Indian are very similar, they seem not to be able to operate anything without 'british' or some 'western' guidance. I see huge difference in mind-sets in chinese who are 'stoic' they will suck up or they will do whatever as long as they get that 'coin'.
Chinese are not a culture of morality or beliefs, they have fixed hard beliefs they need to 'achieve' something and they don't do welfare and they don't accept 'western imperialism'. Where-as in India, he acts like servant of the commonwealth and queen similar to all commonwealth nation. I see recurring pattern where-ever u go in the queen dominion, the people there today are the 'dumbest' among the world, ma 'sun' ayay ku dartay 'gumaysigooda waa yaab niyahow.

Just over 10 years ago, Indian judges needed to be called "my lord," or "your lordship." The Indian postal service used to refer to as "Her Majesty's Government" or "His Majesty's dominions" when it does business. But all of that has been written out of Indian laws and practices. It was an expression of slavery and Indians eventually got rid of it just over 10 years ago. A close friend of mine who was living in India for almost 20 years told me this.
Major Indian cities had colonial names too but most of them have been renamed just over 5 years ago, some still keep their colonial name. Cities like Kolkata (prev. Calcutta), Mumbai (prev. Bombay), Chennai (prev. Madras), Bangalaru (prev. Bangalore) all Indianized their names.
But in all honesty, My opinion of India is somewhat Harsh.
I consider Indians to be docile human beings ready to bow any white skinned individual; they worship everything Caucasian and such shameful practice is benevolent in Indian society.
Why do I call them docile? For close to 7 centuries, Muslim rulers conquered and subjugated India with an Iron fist, it was embarrassing for a nation of this magnitude with vast resources to be completely overshadowed by Persian Muslims for centuries with little to no resistance from the local Hindu dominated society. Muslims butchered close to 25 Million Hindus forcefully converted 30 Million and used the rest as Jizya paying spat upon subjects.
British Colonialism of India was no different; it was monstrous and heavy handed in its approach of enslaving Indians, almost 25 Million Indians perished from the eradication campaigns of British Raj India. One of the most famous genocide in 20th century was the Bengal Famine. The famine of Bengal on 1943 was so bad that it's been likened to genocide. Three million Indians starved to death. The policies of Winston Churchill, who was prime minister at the time, were largely to blame for the suffering. Britain exported huge amounts of food from India, all for its own consumption. 70,000 tons of rice left the sub-continent in 1943. Churchill said this about the Bengal famine of 1943: “I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion. The famine was their own fault for breeding like rabbits.” see, how the BRITISH HAD NO RESPECT FOR INDIANS.
One thing I’ve came to conclusion during my numerous visits to India is, INDIA WILL NEVER BE CHINA. The current Indian government has a vision of 5 trillion economy in 2025, That’s a far fetched unlikely prospect, it’s almost impossible for India to achieve such feat with the current GDP growth, NEVER. China is already a 15 trillion economy… 8 times the size of that of India, imo it will take India another 40 years to be on level playing field with China and I’m being generous here. Why do I say that?? Because economy is driven by three machines: infrastructure, investment and manufacturing; India has barely scratched the surface on all three.
@DR OSMAN see it for yourself and visit India. The IT industry of the country is huge and that's the main reason I came back several times to learn crucial subjects for my resume.
This is a good summary on India I have heard similar things. My cousins went to India for IT even though they were in the West that part I don’t understand. Are you in the west?Oh yeah! Colonial leftovers are well and truly visible in India.
