Ride The Lightning
The grievances:
-"America was built on the enslavement of Black people"
-"Black people are still enslaved today by the criminal justice system"
-"Black people are brutalized and often unjustly murdered by Police"
-"Black people are financially discriminated against and are a fixed underclass by design"
-"Black people are treated with contempt by America, to the degree that they are thought of as animals. It wasn't long ago when Black people were legally classed as subhuman (3/5ths law)"
The Response:
"uhhh guys. Black Lives Matter too y'know?.... like it sucks so hard being black... no justice no peace!! no justice... NO PEACE!! *twerks against a white cops groin* kendrick gotta make a album on this bro... please take us seriously we are equal pls, we want RESPECT!, please listen to us white people!! BLACK LIVES MATTER too please. also black queer trans lives also matter too and black queer sex worker allies , access to bodies and BIPOC folx or something, KENDRICK LAMARRR"
I don't mean to be racebaity but for a people that people think to be "virile, aggressive and powerful" you'd think that the response to an apartheid would be something a bit more "explosive". Looking back, this was one of the most pathetic attempts at "change" I've ever seen.
If this is the best they can muster up, while the popular sentiment, the media and a Black president (keep in mind this started in 2012/24) are championing your "cause" then it's just pathetic.
