we can definitely grow crops with our soils it will just require a lot more investment to make it happen. First step to solution is defining problem . A lot of literature on how to best utilize gypsisol and calcisol we should leverage existing knowledge no need to learn hard way since people already did before us

These place get alot of rain or have huge rivers . America is blessed with some of best soil and fresh water everywhere. america is blessed these cadaan people anywhere they go there is lake, river, trees. why they love fishing so much

Even south Somalia don’t get much rain best farmland is around rivers rest is arid like rest of Somalia. You’re right though Arizona has bad soil but they have a lot of water at their disposal. It’s possible to grow stuff in puntland not just idea. Have to use different tech like dry places like Israel and not alot of water

No silt is needed those lands are untapped just like the great plains in the united states. It all needs to be converted to farm land before we start any sort of drip irrigation in the north.

I dont even think drip irrigation is the best method of irrigation we need Irrigation pivots. Somalia needs to invest in better farming strategies. You will not be able to feed a country with drip irrigation or primitive farming in the south. Unless if its for special crops that need to be tended for.
