Yeah you can’t even call the ancient Egypt a empire either.

we probably couldn’t conquer each other because we mostly didn’t knew of each other existences, or we minded our business. But then again, a lot of civilians back in Africa were incredibly strong.

both countries/islands are actually really close to Somalia and they used to be a part of east Africa (until they broke off). And both countries are in east Africa. Both islands used to have a close relationship with other East African Nations.

And Mauritius, like Somalia, doesn’t have a huge Christian population at all compared to the other East African countries. Mauritians mostly practice Hinduism and Mauritius alone has the biggest population of Hindus in Africa and the 3rd biggest Hindus in the world. Islam is a largely practiced religion in Mauritius too.
