Fact is the American policy on Al-shabab has been outsourced to Ethiopia to deal with

because Somalia is not as important for American direct involvement like the cases of Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria.

Trump might've increased the US Africa Command's role in fighting Al-shabab by increasing Navy Seal raids

or drone strikes but he's not going to go as far as to send in large amounts of ground troops as in the cases of Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria.

Somalia is very important for USA and in very strategic location. Enough 75 % of world trade passes through Indian Ocean. Second, bye Ethiopia since they allow china to dig Ogaden gas. Also, they cut the aid from Ethiopia. You are sad for your beloved mum Ethiopia

i wouldn't celebrate so early. Ethiopia still has many cards left. Trump makes decisions on a whim and is often uninformed about most things he says. there might be a security event and he will change his mind and give them all the support they need to keep the status quo,
