They dress like the locals, like the locals, they are obsessed their looks, skin and relaxing their hair. They generally look like this but with darker complexion.

It depends on where you go. When I visited Dubai in the past the gold souqs, money transfers, shipping businesses and the clothing sectors were mainly run by people from back home.

Anybody been to Dubai here ? Are all the Somali people that live there fobs or do they look like Somalis in the west

I've lived here 5 years. Most are FOB there are those arabinised ones who've been here multiple generations. Then there are the western professional somalis that come to work and there's alot but they tend to no associate with somalis.

Nigga stop lying
dont Lie if u want to make jokes
just say ‘they probably‘ or something don’t just go in fully like a ximar
i lived there for 14 years and nobody does that
it’s like there isn’t a cultural imposment or whatever they call it
u 100% fully wear what u want
somalis there wear t shirt and sural tbh they’re normal
i think it’s because foreigners ratio locals 1 to 10 but we move

3 categories of Somalis living in the UAE.

The rich rich ones who don't associate with Somalis and only associate with their Somali relatives. They mostly speak in English, wear western designer clothes, go on vacations to Europe and North America.

The students, who are there to study, they either came from a western country or came from Somalia with the support of their families.

The fob business people, they have restaurants, stores and most of them are taxi drivers.

I was there for few months, some Somalis indeed dress like emirati, and straightening their hair.

I lived in Abu Dhabi for a year with my dad but a lot of Somalis including my fam moved out to the west in the 90s. You need a work visa to stay or else they will kick you out.

People only think of Dubai when talking about uae but there’s other cities as well somalis live in like Sharjah and Ajman. Abu Dhabi being the Richest out of the Emirates.

I forgot about the dependency on work visas. It’s pretty shitty and stressful life to live in UAE for a lot of people. And pretty nice for westerners with cushy non taxable jobs.

My family similarly left in the 90s.

The money ain't what it used to be. Its a nice place (went there myself) and I'd live there but there's alot of gaajo now (i.e. the reer UK, indians and filipinos are willing to take any job at any salary just to work there). Go if you want to live there and say you work in "Dubai."

Why are you putting us in the same sentence as filipinos and indians ? :umwhat:
