Seems like we will see some Neolithic samples from Algeria & Tunisia. Early Neolithic samples are apparently similar to those found in Paleolithic Morocco. On the Island of Djerba in Tunisia there is a heavily European HG admixed sample and there are late Neolithic samples where we will see the introduction of Middle Eastern type ancestry which might co-incidence with the introduction of Middle Eastern ancestry in NE Africa (Egypt,Sudan).

Is it safe to assume our direct paternal ancestors migrated to NE Africa from the Maghreb?

HG’s used mobility as a survival strategy so normally they would have covered a much wider region. I wouldn’t be surprised if E-Z1902* HG reached as far north as Spain, as far south as southern Niger/Chad deep in the Sahara Desert and as far east as the Levant

What’s stepp doing so early in North Africa with 1 of the samples?

What im more intrigued about is why the early levantine farmer is so high in half the samples. Is it the people that brought proto berber/berber itself or? How old are these samples?

Yeah I wish they had put age for each sample. The high Levantine could be because it’s eating away from the EEF. I believe the Levant Neolithic guys brought Berber and E-M81 to the region.

It’s not actual Steppe ancestry as the Indo-European Steppe expansions happened much later. The model is pretty bad tbh considering there is no Natufians present in it.
