It isnt specifically about being proud of culture , it is more less about the fact that you can be the richest and most prosperous in the world and at the same time have the shittiest self worth and insecure as hell.

Smart people are more likely to see the world for what it truly is and don't get caught up in trivial things like nationalism,ethnic pride,political fanaticism etc.

Really? Eleborate a little bit on that. Are these so called smart people "Blank slates"? No refrence of self no homeland no form of self interests that they need to protect or invest in,no heritage, with no past no future? Assuming that the trivials of politics, ethnicity, nationality doesn't come to play in shaping them.

As for those of us with hyper inflated sense of self worth/pride. I believe you are seeing the trend here. The less you know = The less humbled you are = The more you strut around like a peacock

Humbleness do not come from lack of respect, appreciation/love for oneself , it comes from an intricate understanding of both yourself and others.

You basically telling people to look down on themselves if they don't have riches, materials or validation from others. That's major insecurity bro. That won't bring humbleness just disgusting self pity and hate

When I say smart I mean those who see the bigger picture of things, who think on a grander scale than the average joe. Nationalism and tribalism were perhaps useful in some point of our history when resource were scarce and were struggling to survive, But now a days they have no place in society. We are out here floating on some godforsaken blue rock in the middle of nowhere and murking eachother over petty things like national allegiances and religion and what not. If you haven't caught up yet im advocating for pan globalism.

I don't know if you misunderstood me or just flat out out twisting my words bruh. Equating material objects to your source of pride is one of the worst things you can do. So does equating pride with shit you didn't actually strive for and had no say in, Like ethnicity/race/nationality, all social constructs mind you which only adds to the ridiculousness. But some how you criticise one and overlook the other

A sense of "Nobility" and "Pride" do not come from accomplishments but it comes from love and pride in who your are and what makes you and shapes you.

Somalis universal sense of nobility closely related to their unbounded pride in their Somali-ness.
