embarassing somali language mix ups

I was watching a documentary on native alaskans with my mom, and my mom asks what these people eat living out in the cold wilderness. I was trying to explain that they ate seal, but I don't know how to say seal in somali, so I just kept it in english. After I said it out loud, my mom was like, huh? so I quickly changed it to walrus, because that was the closest animal I could think of. LOL

What are your worst/embarassing mistakes

One of my family members had a horrible cold and you know in Somali theres different phrases to describes illnesses. So I asked them if they were nearing death with this cold... But yours is crazier LOL
