I don't know , the first time i actually heard of her. I doubt they would fight a duel over a single women, that seems like some medieval European practice. She must have been really important if they did.

I have known for years that Ethiopia's agricultural data is bullshit. Anyone who knows anything about agricultural transformation could see that Ethiopia had not implemented the best practices of the Green Revolution.

Ethiopia is a city-state with a desperately poor periphery. Ethiopia outside of Addis is probably poorer than Somalia.

Ok so for the last 5+ years they been lying on data and bolsting and continue to get loans and projects what’s gonna happen?

Remote sensing and AI have made it easier than ever to find out what has been planted and what the expected yield is. CME futures traders have developed these methods to speculate on food prices. If USDA says Ethiopia is lying, then it is lying.

Their growth rates have been inflated for decades.
The IMF did a massive downward revision of their GDP in the October 2024 WEO. This was probably a condition of Ethiopia getting the $3.4 billion loan in July of this year. Some of it is likely to be due to the devaluation of the Birr.

Damn that’s crazy. Whats going to material occur then in Ethiopia? Great depression? worse economic conditions?
