Aussie is way beyond redemption, trying to be ultra ultra liberal will take him ova the cliff.

Ask Suldaan what progress did happen in his deegaan of Sool for the last 25 years? Nada, zero, in fact cousins from different sub-sub clans were butchering one another for the last 25 years. Each year, there are wars among themselves that causes the general public to suffer and starve. Then, how are the Ethiopians not smarter than us? These guys love their tribal wars, but don’t want to take responsibility for the chaos, anarchy, barbarity and the poverty it causes to the masses and when they hear Ethiopia is on the road of progress, instead of asking themselves, what can we learn from them, they will go into a fit of jealousy rage like an old wife whose husband took a second wife with them. They’re hypocrites and not patriots.

A lot of Raya? People seem to only talk about the Amhara Region Raya, everyone should take a trip to the Raya in Tigray and ask about their identity.
Our first uprising didn't start in Raya for no reason, they can call themselves and a lot do as Rayans but they identify as Tigrayans as well.
They've made their views clear, marching from the Amhara region Raya into the Tigray region and protesting is not talking for them.

As for Welkait, that was always home to Tigrayans.

why not mention the injustice to him:mjpls:

@xabashi your region aswell:mjpls:

Exactly, from her region, so they can stay there and not put their noses in Raya Azebo.

They done the same thing but with Welkait and Amhara's and one man said something along the lines of 'we speak Tigrinya, but the thing is we have no connection to Tigray, the Tigrinya we speak is Eritrean Tigrinya',
and that completely erased the 'we learnt Tigrinya to communicate with Tigrayan farmers that came to Welkait' story.

Some of these scholars need to rethink what they are talking about:ulyin:. Especially the Amhara ones.

Do you believe in secession of Tigray?

What does secession help with in 2019? Especially in Africa?
Used to kinda sorta share that view, albeit on a lesser level, for the whole of HOA in fact-- now..? I'm not so sure tbh tbh. Everybody has different objectives for the future and think they're too different from one another so at least it'll bring peace & stability.

Let everybody be King of their Huts, no more ethnic tensions. A country can't just be held together for the sake of it, most esp. in Africa.

you are wrong on most issues cos your analysis is not deep,kind simplistic.most African countries suffer in one way or anotha due to multiple reasons,ethiopia was at war with each otha for 40yrs between the eriterians tigrays on one side and the amhara dominated regimes of haile salasie and mengistu,millions died. when the tplf/eplf were at the gates of addis in 1991 and were about to storm the city all western countries rapidly intervened and even sent their ambassadors and churches to the front cos at that time with the experience of what happened in Somalia,westerners didn't want a repeat of anotha turmoil in the horn(both the govt and opposition groups were brought to London,meeting chaired by US under secretary,Cohen, and Mengistu was pressured to leave). I have nothing against Ethiopians and wish thm good luck. at one time in the 70s Somalia was ahead of Ethiopia,times change and it could happen again,thats the way it goes,and mind you Somalis accomplished much last 10yrs without strong govt.
Somali politics had direct impact on Ethiopia;
in 1969 there was military coup in Somalia, soon after in 1972 Ethiopians had their first revolution for the first time in their long history and get rid off the longest monarchy in Africa.
in 1991 when said barre was chased from Mogadishu those opposition groups in Ethiopia decided to follow suit Somali rebels and go straight to the capital,addisababa and soon took ova power after few months.(remember they were in the bush for 40rs).
and I guess ahmed abiys reforms could be direct result of the openness and lack of torture and heavy handedness that exist in neighboring Somalia.
few years ago I recall one Yemeni guy calling Somalis savages killing each otha!!!! and now see yemen..stuff come and go.
and lastly am not mad at you for criticizing Somali situation but something tell me you r really bitter at times.

Once we were warriors but today, we are shit. Burundi and Sierra Leone had civil wars later than us, today, they aren’t only enjoying relative peace, but they are contributing peacekeepers in Somalia says volumes about us. I’m not an apologist for tribal madness and a tribal worshiping society that has abandoned and neglected it’s own country, therefore let’s agree to disagree.

sorry my friend I don't deal with pessimism and bitterness,,,again very simplistic. while you quarterbacking in Australia many r working round the clock to make something out of the ashes and have succeeded to greater extent, compare Somalia to 10yrs ago and see how it progressing,,OH WELL, you don't know,have no idea.
and you don't follow the killings been goin in Ethiopia for sometime now. there r Ethiopian refugees in Somalia and vice versa, close to 100000 in the city of hargeisa alone.
said that I pray for all of us in the horn.

@roble

I was there in the last quarter of 2016 before that, early 2015. Since then, what happened?

to you nothing,,everything stagnant.Gosh!

@roble

The thread is about the economic miracles of Ethiopia and looking from that angle of what they’ve achieved in the last 20 years and in comparisom to us, is it worth mentioning the construction of three storey hotel in Hamar, Garowe or in Hargeisa and claim that we are developing too? It’s embarrassing. If we are dead serious in transforming our country, let’s honestly ask ourselves, how can we succeed like them and learn a valuable lesson from them. Too many fake pride denials won’t get us anywhere.

If I was Farmaajo or Kheeyre, I would ask the government T.V station to run programs and documentaries based on Ethiopia’s progress daily on T.V and explain to Somalis that hatreds and envy towards one another based on clannism is what stopping us to reach our potential and progress that can surpass our main rival and neighbor.

you neva get it,,just comn up with pointless arguments one after anotha, you know we were in turbulence for long time,,do you think people don't want good stuff? not only hotels but hospitals,schools,universities,private doctors with the latest equipment,running water,24hr electricity,cheapest phone calls in the world,fast internet,more than a dozen Tvs,farms,water detacments for nomads in many places,airports,roads and bridges built by Somali engineers etc etc.
why should I have to build an airport like heathrow when I don't need,we have enough airports for our demands,things r rolling and we get there. theres no fake pride rather the problem is you who cant even come up with valid points,,except Ethiopia which is 100 M built a big airport.
you just keep doubledown on how Somalis bad and projecting urslv a concerned elder.
lot things will come in time,,didn't the turks built a big airport in Mogadishu,beg thm to increase the capacity nxt couple yrs,afterall the Chinese helped built for Ethiopia and just enlarged boli airport which is been there for decades.

Dude, what progress are you talking about apart from the strong western backed central government?! We don't need to aspire and copy the likes of Ethiopia... Aim higher my friend. Ethiopia's GDP is less than 60B even though they're the second most populated country in Africa. The general populous suffers from extreme poverty. Actually Somalia is superior to Ethiopia in many fields like the access of internet, access to clean water and electricity etc.

I know you're trying to provide motivation but saying we should copy Ethiopia of all people is insulting and disgraceful.

@aussie.
to remind you that every region managed to do all the following with no help from otha countries. and if some had is not more than 20%.

not only hotels are built.but hospitals,schools,universities,private doctors with the latest equipment,running water,24hr electricity,cheapest phone calls in the world,fast internet,more than a dozen Tvs,farms,water detacments for nomads in many places,airports,roads and bridges built by Somali engineers etc etc.
all telecom owned by Somalis which is one of the best in Africa, banks and money transferes owned by Somalis which deal billions of $s. all these beautiful buildings and hotels you see online are built by Somalis, actually am against anyone bringing in foreign engineers cos its detrimental to our own, the only way a country can grow is to use its own doctors,engineers etc so they can improve their skills and more importantly the population to see we can do.
even thou small hargeisa airport is largely built by Somalis.
