It’s actually true, I was at Addis airport back in 2014. The smell was so horrible, I was literally counting down the time for our plane to Hargeisa.

Jigjiga is alright it smelled like Petrichor, the earthy smell before rain, be careful with the khat they add some heavy-duty chemicals, so wash it beforehand, I highly recommend you get some peanuts and some red fanta.

From what I remember, Jigjiga doesn’t smell that bad, but Addis Ababa is horrible. The people there have no shame as well and pee and poo wherever they feel like.
