Ethiopian vlogger in Hargeisa

Her other videos were decent, but this one she went straight into instigator mode. She went around asking questions about the difference between "Somali" and "Somalilander" and even referred to Wajaale as an Ethiopian city. When asked where she's from, she claimed Ethiopia, thinking these guys wouldn't know about the different ethnicities within Ethiopia. But when they pressed her further, asking if she was Oromo or Amhara, she avoided the question, answering only with Adidas Ababa. But she has no problem differentiating Somalis.

Lol it’s common with Ethiopians, they never reveal their ethnicity with pride, waad ina sasaabtid. The most difficult ones are Amhara and Tigrayans, they’ll even claim to be Muslim whilst being named “Michael” or some shid. My guess is she’s Amhara.

tbh I wouldn’t go around telling my exact ethnic group (if I was here) but she shouldn’t be asking that question repeatedly when she knows

She got to be careful with tht camera. I was in hargeisa 2021 and the last day i got my camera and went to film the city with my mom. I was a street away from a police station and they saw me and told me to come over 😂😭😭😭 theyre like "wht are u filming. U cant film" hopefully my mom backed me up and they let us go. But tht happened to my somali self so idk how these people are just walking freely like this?

They'll ask all about your personal details licking their lips when doing so then when you ask them about theirs they run I won't say what I want to but they exhibit traits like the you know who.

But everyone in my thread said it isn’t true that Ethiopians don’t like sharing their ethnicity.

Look at how peaceful and safe she was while wandering the Hargeisa streets. In most other East African cities, she would have been either harassed by loiterers, pedestrians and hawkers, surrounded by beggars, or faced a higher than normal risk of being bombed to smithereens (cough, cough, Xamar).

Truly an exemplary city in Africa! :fittytousand:
