I was in a clubhouse room the other day talking about diasporas, and it was mainly mareykan and euros, and wallahi the amount of Swedish Dutch Finnish Somalis who said they were from their euro nation, but went ahead and sounded exactly like an immigrant with a accent using slang from London was crazy

With their jajab English, they still found ways to sneak in ‘peng’ ‘dun out here’ ‘ting’ and ‘bruv’ in all their sentences .... WHYTYYYYYY yall not from the UK kowda, and secondly, that ghetto London talk isn’t cute

It wasn’t even just the dudes, the girls were even worse cause the ones who weren’t forcing a hood London chick voice, they were saying period pooh and saying nigga while sounding like Hitler WHAT IS THIS ABOMJNATION IN EURO somalis ??

Actually the only people who try to fake British accents in Europe tend to be literal boomers. Younger Europeans give the American accent more prestige, older people look up more to the British one.

The ones you have met probably been influenced from relatives they have in London. They are not typical for Europeans who speak advanced English.

I'm not old, in my 20s. Actually the only people who try to fake British accents in Europe tend to be literal boomers. Younger Europeans give the American accent more prestige, older people look up more to the British one.

Listen, the room had a lot of Somalis who say they were Dutch, Finnish Swedish etc. They were all around 17-23 I’d say, cause the topics we were discussing was too childish for anyone older than that

And their accents were foreign sounding so they were defo not British cause I’d recognize it, but their slang was for sure British. I’m not sure why you’re finding this so hard to believe
