Every Somali should have a long-term goal of moving back home

I don't understand how you can sit around and enjoy the fruits of another mans labour while your homeland is in ruins. In my book, any person who is educated should be making long-term plans of moving back home to contribute to Somalia's nation building, God knows there is a lot of work to do.
If you ain't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

I'm only waiting on the outcome of this election. Not many people know this but with a decent degree you can work for many NGOs and cooperations back home and they pay really well. You can live in your country and still make bank. I'd prefer living in Kismayo while i vacation in the west instead staying cooped up in the white mans dynasty.

Yes, I have been and it only made me want to go move move. Somalia being in the state it is in now is no excuse to stay leeching in Europe, in fact the opposite should be happening.
Let me ask you a question:
Do you think Jews who grew up and lived in the upper echelons of European society were happy to move to some desert dump in the Levant? & yes, unlike Somalis they were actually living the upper-class sweet life in Europe and a lot of them left it behind to build a nation for their people.
They did so because it was what needed to be done, not because it was in their personal interest.They all left their beautiful European townhouses to build a country from the ground up and today it stands as a 1st world country. Imagine if they had all just migrated to America and refused to build their nation? That would be the easier option, but achieving greatness is never the easier option, there are many hurdles you must overcome.

I don't buy that. It is great to want to establish a home for all Somalis, but pretending like we're obligated to drop everything for it is pure nonsense. Your community is in shambles and you're running back home. If you can't fix your surroundings, what can you do for the people back home? Reeks of a saviour complex.

As a man you are solely responsible for your family. You're obligated to take the best opportunities presented to you and capitalize on them to give your family the best possible halal life. They overwhelmingly lie outside of Somali for the average man. I agree that nowadays, the West is not the best place to raise a family, but that is a different conversation.
