I’m yet to come accross a western farax that went to somalia and said he would never return. The problem is majority never go first time, but hopefully social media videos can change that.

Living off the struggles of the Western negro is not only cowardly but quite ironic as well.

Living off the pain and hard work of a people suffering from 400+ years of oppression while you waste away when you're own people have become the textbook definition of a failed state. The very equivalent of an AA running off to some remote island during the height of Jim crow.

But at last, this is the situation faced by the Somali diaspora. A 1 million+ population that will eventually fully assimilate to their host countries while millions of their brethren in their home country continue to suffer under qabayaad, poverty, and salafi extremism. :francis:

I don't buy that. It is great to want to establish a home for all Somalis, but pretending like we're obligated to drop everything for it is pure nonsense. Your community is in shambles and you're running back home. If you can't fix your surroundings, what can you do for the people back home? Reeks of a saviour complex.

As a man you are solely responsible for your family. You're obligated to take the best opportunities presented to you and capitalize on them to give your family the best possible halal life. They overwhelmingly lie outside of Somali for the average man. I agree that nowadays, the West is not the best place to raise a family, but that is a different conversation.

Just look at what is going in Xamar today.

As a man, you should be following the Sunnah which says to make hijrah to a muslim country if possible.

Ibn al-‘Arabi al-Maaliki said: Hijrah (migration) means leaving dar al-harb [non-Muslim lands] and going to dar al-islam [Muslim lands]. This was obligatory at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and remains so after his time for those who fear for their lives. From Nayl al-Awtaar, 8/33, by al-Shawkaani.

Al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar said concerning the hadeeth, “I disown every Muslim who settles among the mushrikeen”:

Where did I say that people should drop everything to move back home, I said people should be making long-term goals. Whether its 10 years, 30 or even 50. You should be looking for ways to contribute to your country that is struggling back home, anyone who is educated can apply their experience to building something tangible. Whether its a pharmacist using their degree to help medicate people. Or an engineer helping with urban planning or urban and rural cities. Or a humanities graduate helping to revive the culture and support civil groups. What is pitiful however is planning to live the rest of your existence in a country that isnt yours while your home is in ruins. That is in my honest opinion, unislamic behaviour.

I agree but I would much rather focus on making sure people are taking care of their current families here.

Interested

Quite the Islamist.
Yes. It is the plan. Got family members here who are already planning to move back home permanently within 5 years.

We could class are self as more privileged with the demographic of the user here

Unfortunately, for Idealist like @Reymouti the rest of the average Somali lives youths live poverty in some inner city ghetto or working class as best but don't see how such people with problems of their own will just up an move to Somalia future to fix it national problems.

first of all, there is barely any incentive to make a life changing decisions like. It would be a retirement plan at best

Who knows the future

Pretty selfish to demand young people who grew up in the west to build a country they’ve never known, and even fix what the older generation destroyed.

Nobody has a responsibility to build Somalia except for those who live there. If they want a better life then let them work themselves.

@Reymouti I'm still not convinced

Let me finish this degree, get 2yrs work experience and I'll be off to Mogadishu.

I don't plan on spending my 30s and beyond in the West. I prefer to be surrounded by Somalis who look like me, speak my language and have Islamic Morals.

Every Somali kid in the diaspora needs 3-6months of Daqan Celis so they can live amongst their people. Because I've noticed the youngins who have never visited Somalia to be the most obtuse liberal dorks I've ever met.

I have big plans for back home. I wish to expand and diversify my father's business so that we can create more new job opportunities for the locals. I just want to die knowing I at least created a positive impact in my life not to mention the many rewards you'll get from Allah for helping people.

I agree with daqan Celis being necessary. Way to many of us take things as a joke or for granted. It made me realize and appreciate the things that I have or been blessed with.

Having family members walk in the heat for day's just to see you with a huge smile on their faces is an eye opening experience. It really helped me put things in perspective. It helped me assume my responsibilities and to never complain.

I totally agree.

But they will never do that. They love living in gaalo lands. They will cry hysterically and lose their breath and have snot covering their faces if they are forced to go back. They will become schizophrenic if their citizenship has been taken away from them.

The same people who insist they will go back never do. If they do, they only last for half a year at most and return to living with the gaalo. Besides, they have nothing to offer Somalia except flexing on the locals about how "rich" they are on their summer vacations.

All talk, no action.

The only ones that actually return are those who love the West but have a soft spot for Somalia and want to help the poor and contribute to its development. They have a mission that is not marrying a powerless young local woman (they already married a woman in the west). They actually have deliverables that they achieve and make a difference.

I'm planning a trip back insha allah
I'm only waiting on the outcome of this election. Not many people know this but with a decent degree you can work for many NGOs and cooperations back home and they pay really well. You can live in your country and still make bank. I'd prefer living in Kismayo while i vacation in the west instead of staying cooped up in the white mans dynasty.
You can become a target someone can kill you

jUst keeping it REAL homie
Especially the men since women are pretty much powerless in Somalia.
I don't understand how you can sit around and enjoy the fruits of another mans labour while your homeland is in ruins. In my book, any person who is educated should be making long-term plans of moving back home to contribute to Somalia's nation building, God knows there is a lot of work to do.
If you ain't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
That’s right , leave the land of opportunities, leave the land of the free, go to the third world Islamic qabyaalad war zone your freshie low iq father ran away from and meet the certain death he escaped. Die a wadani who worked selflessly for muh beobles, don’t have and raise children, let a few emotional decisions be your legacy.

Sacrifice yourself niyo meanwhile xalimos live carefree comfortable lives in the first world along with other privileged minorities, they will make beautiful wives for ajnabi men whom they will birth beautiful mixed babies for.

On a serious note, stay right were you are young Farahs . Take advantage of the endless economic opportunities for minorities in the west.
You’re not from Somalia, you’re considered a dhaqan celis beg over there. They will laugh and tease ur hooyo mataalo ass. You don’t belong there you’re a alien in Somalia, you are culturally westernized you belong were you were born and raised. Don’t fall for this “going backhome” pipe dream , how can you go back to a place you have never been to 😭😭😭😭you’re being played in 4K saxib, this similar to how al shabaab recruits Fighters from the diaspora using deen, in this case these fobs are using Somalinimo to recruit you for a failed Muslim country

There are Somali men in Somalia , it’s their responsibility to build the country they grew up in.

You’re from America and Europe, worry about positively contributin to your respective country be a good representation/ambassadors for Somali diaspora.
