I don't buy that. It is great to want to establish a home for all Somalis, but pretending like we're obligated to drop everything for it is pure nonsense. Your community is in shambles and you're running back home. If you can't fix your surroundings, what can you do for the people back home? Reeks of a saviour complex.
As a man you are solely responsible for your family. You're obligated to take the best opportunities presented to you and capitalize on them to give your family the best possible halal life. They overwhelmingly lie outside of Somali for the average man. I agree that nowadays, the West is not the best place to raise a family, but that is a different conversation.
Just look at what is going in Xamar today.
We could class are self as more privileged with the demographic of the user hereI agree but I would much rather focus on making sure people are taking care of their current families here.
The people who hate having jobs, put western taxi drivers in high political positions and spend there whole day a having petty argument about which clan is betterPretty selfish to demand young people who grew up in the west to build a country they’ve never known, and even fix what the older generation destroyed.
Nobody has a responsibility to build Somalia except for those who live there. If they want a better life then let them work themselves.
Amusing wallahi.@Reymouti

Ok
I agree with daqan Celis being necessary. Way to many of us take things as a joke or for granted. It made me realize and appreciate the things that I have or been blessed with.Every Somali kid in the diaspora needs 3-6months of Daqan Celis so they can live amongst their people. Because I've noticed the youngins who have never visited Somalia to be the most obtuse liberal dorks I've ever met.
You can become a target someone can kill youI'm planning a trip back insha allah
I'm only waiting on the outcome of this election. Not many people know this but with a decent degree you can work for many NGOs and cooperations back home and they pay really well. You can live in your country and still make bank. I'd prefer living in Kismayo while i vacation in the west instead of staying cooped up in the white mans dynasty.
That’s right , leave the land of opportunities, leave the land of the free, go to the third world Islamic qabyaalad war zone your freshie low iq father ran away from and meet the certain death he escaped. Die a wadani who worked selflessly for muh beobles, don’t have and raise children, let a few emotional decisions be your legacy.Especially the men since women are pretty much powerless in Somalia.
I don't understand how you can sit around and enjoy the fruits of another mans labour while your homeland is in ruins. In my book, any person who is educated should be making long-term plans of moving back home to contribute to Somalia's nation building, God knows there is a lot of work to do.
If you ain't part of the solution, you're part of the problem.
