Most ex-Muslims are leftists. They keep it private that they are murtads but don't hate Muslims since it's against their leftists beliefs to hate Muslims.
There are plenty of quiet irreligious types who were raised Muslim of various political meanings that won't publicly hate on Islam and Muslims. The public ex-Muslim movement may have once started a little sane but for a long time now it's clearly been hijacked into something vile by the likes of right-wing think-tanks and grifter groups to disparage Muslims and support Israel.
They clearly target complexed and abused "ex Muslims" whose parents were abusive in various ways, maybe even tried to kill them when they began doubting or left the Deen and who often fit that "Pastor's child" stereotype of having overly showy, overly strict but hypocritical parents who suffocated them. These right wing grifters use these sad saps' trauma to their advantage and weaponise them against Islam and Muslims as a whole.
