They know our position ofcourse there gonna get the better deal. As long as they don't disrupt trade we should be good. I don't think it's endangering anything our land and people will be the same

Somaliland maamul's economy is heavily dependant on Berbera. If you give the Ethiopians their own port, who the f*ck is gonna use Berbera?

You are literally giving away the only leverage we (Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia) have against a much larger and stronger enemy that already controls the headwaters of our only two rivers.

Without this leverage, they can do whatever they want. Makes absolutely no sense.

I think the deal included 100% use of Berbera Port and Berbera isn't enough to fulfil future needs so another port will need to be built at some point. Beyond that Somaliland shouldn't be so dependent on port business in the future.

Ethiopia will pay less in Berbera and Somaliland government will take more of the pie so it's a win for both parties. Port fees are useful but Somaliland has natural resources and needs to develop other industries in the medium to long term.

The wording of the MoU was interesting I agree but it was to test the waters. Then Muse Bihi just blurted it out and let the cat out of bag. All indications are that they are going through with the deal.

The Somaliland government did lose some territory but fighting guerillas is a losing game unless you are highly funded and have some serious diplomatic cover which Somaliland doesn't have. Siad Barre, if you are aware, prayed to Jesus with Republican congressmen and they gave him both of those so he got away with levelling Hargeisa and he still lost.
