The reason why DP world aka UAE is buying up all the ports in the Gulf of Aden/Red Sea in Djibouti, Yemen, Somalia, Eritrea etc is to control the opposition. Why else would they buy up a port in Berbera, Bosaso, and Djibouti? What economic incentives are there? The UAE is running out of oil and doesn’t want anything to threaten her diversification, add 2 and 2 together. You are fool DP world manages, ports in Canada, Australia, Turkey and many more countries.
The investments on both Berbera and Bosaso are both in the same range, in the hundreds of millions. If DP World managed both Berbera and Bosaso then that would be controversial, which is why P&O ports was used.P&O is very small, you can't compare it to DP Word, but DP World owns P&O and it's for smaller ports.
