I am on a $110 an hour, it's not a dream. $500 an hour isn't a dream, you just need 2 years experience with no breaks in between. Maybe if u say $1000 an hour is a dream, then fair enough, but $500 is realistic in our industry, as long as you have security clearance and more then 5 years experience.

There is always a catch niyahow, I wasn't being 100% honest, those contracts are 'time limited' they give u like 6 months contract at $500 an hr for your consultant work on their client site and systems and you do the work as 'slow' as possible 'within' reasons obviously or else they will find someone else to do it and sack you. Usually it's 6 months with 6 month extension. I have yet to see a 2 year contract at $500 an hour motherfuckers huh.
But if you switch to 'permanent' position, you will 'max' out at 300k once you become senior, I have yet to see any consultant who is a permanent staff making more then 300k. I am not sure why they pay permanent staff 'less' till this day compared to 'contractors'. BUT that's the market niyahow.
I am at the $110-140 an hr bracket because I am junior consultant even though I have 7 years experience in my industry but having 7 years exp in the industry doesn't mean shit when the industry has so many fields, they want 10 years experience in the industry then 5 years dedicated to the field when you commanding $500 an hour niyahow.
I have 7 years in the industry but 4 of those 7 years has been spent outside 'security' so I am technically 3 years security experience but 0 years experience in consultancy. So I still got a way to go but the path is there as long as I remain dedicated and $110-140k isn't bad for 'junior' anyways, it's six figures, it's not perfect but after 5 years I will say nabaday abahina wasa and apply for contracting adds on my job sites.
I work in a highly regulated field, so our IT infrastructure has to meet heavy compliances and we hired an IT consultant just before an FDA audit. That consultant was bagging 500euros an hours. Actually not him, but his consultancy company. There's merit into what the dear doctor said.
Yah I am in the compliance and audit field, you gonna have to always hire us out waryaa cause govt is on your ass to do it and you will pay us BIG COIN and we will be in bahamas for 1 year while we wait for next FDA audit or so many types of audits they have to do not just govt regulations and laws but IT best practises and industry audits and then policy audits and then data integrity the list goes on niyahow looooooooool. At the end of day you need to protect your data niyahow or else you can be sued and u know it so dont act like u doing me a favor by paying me big lol
