I’ve seen some videos of political parties having xaflads as 2026 is coming soon, but this has reminded me of one of the biggest foreign agents that will arrive closer to election time, and that is none other than Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo. This man left the country and went to Qatar for five years, living there with all his expenses paid.

Before people say xamar isn’t safe, everyone is native to a region in Somalia. He is more than welcome to move to Cabudwaaq or Gedo and live and campaign from there, but it’s clear he prioritises luxury and money more than his own lands. What does that say about his term then? He was president for five years and doesn’t even want to live in his ancestral lands, which is nothing short of a failure.

Somali citizens do not have the luxury to leave the country when they are faced with adversity and don’t deserve leaders who fail to deliver during their presidency and want to come back to repeat their failures once more.

Having homes in a foreign country is another topic, and HSM has always lived in Somalia whilst farmaajo ran to Qatar.

My point was, why didn’t he stay in Somalia after his presidency? If xamar was unsafe for him, he could have moved to his ancestral lands until the 2026 elections. Instead, he moved to Qatar and constantly posts on social media about Somali politics. To me, that feels disingenuous.

I think in 20-30 years when people evaluate the somali president's of the 21st century . Without a doubt hsm will go down as the worst and farmjao will probably be among the top. I can say hsm will probably rank the worst among the post 91 somali leaders.

I honestly believe that if hsm wasn't the elected president in 2012 we would be so much further along then we are now. It's honestly very telling of how terrible the somali poltical elite are that they all chose too elect hsm again after they saw how corrupt he was.
