how do i use this
we cannot develop because of tribal reasons. great.
Opposition will always win if the government is already weak.
You don't need an opposition early on. Having a weak government is enough since it can't do everything.
Come back in a decade and ask if we need an opposition again.

Okay, tell me how opposition should work? You guys have been brainwashed about the big bad opposition. There's nothing wrong with criticising a useless government. Tolerating a weak government won't make the society any better.
Okay, tell me how opposition should work?
In the British parliament, opposition works by voting against the government on most issues.
Meaning if the government creates a bad law, some MPs of the main party will vote against their own party and all/most opposition will vote against the law as well. The bad law will fail. Party whip means it has to be worth it as they risk being punished by the main party.
With normal laws, MPs will follow whatever their party says to vote.
With less important issues, MPs will have a freedom to vote whatever they want.
This is how it normally works.
But with weak government, you will always have some members rebelling against the government for selfish reasons.
Hearing stories of how the government failed to pass any laws because idiots in the main party wanted police station to be built in their tuulo instead of their rival clan's tuulo will be common
Okay, tell me how can we get together to make sure the government is free from corruption? That's secondary to what I was eluding to. I want the government to fear the public. There's no stronger opposition than the civil society. Believe it or not but Somalia has a strong civil society, they are the ones running schools, businesses and even security. You want to tolerate a weak governemnet, and give them time to get stronger. The problem is they will never get stronger if they are not challenged.
I already said that the parliament is useless, they won't get much resistance from illiterate and corrupt MPs. That's even a bigger reason for the public to stand up and be vigilant. Being submissive to a useless government won't bring change.
Okay, tell me how can we get together to make sure the government is free from corruption?
The civil society you're talking is basically Somaliland, Puntland, Galmudug, etc. They're all effectively useless
We honestly need to keep the government in a check but I can't see how we can do this without avoiding infighting and igniting another civil war
Hopefully Farmaajo has a secret plan (hadn't shared anything with us yet) and pulls through.
If he doesn't by the end of 2017 then he's obviously part of the conspiracy to keep the status quo of chaos until Somalia breaks up into bite sized pieces for our rivals.
At the very least he should be figuring out ways how to increase government revenues in his jurisdiction (apart from milking NGO workers).
We need interest groups that are larger than the government in Somalia.
In the West it's businesses and industry associations that keep the government in line; not government institutions and voters...
The way things are going I would be surprised if he even lasts until 2017 unless drastic changes are made, it's one amateur blunder after another the government is making, at one point you have to ask yourself if it's just 'incompetence' or rather is this all done by design as part of the conspiracy?
The more days go past, the more the early detractors are vindicated in their assessments, before he was elected I heard he had qabiilist agenda to move the capital which he saw as his ONLY KEY goal.
I simply dismissed this at first, but everything he has done so far proved this notion to perfection, the regular parliamentary sessions in Kismaayo and the appointment of the 3 key ministerial positions beginning with the 'interior' all people from the same clan with vested interest that will make such a move a legality when that time comes, these were specifically requested by Farmaajo.
The only thing left now is to engineer a revolt in Xamar in order to trigger this plan into action which is being planned in many creative ways, one of them is by removing all private security personnel's leaving a gaping void for shabab/bandits alike to fill in order to wreck havoc which is already happening in the capital in brutal ways never seen before with the previous administrations.
The other idea being flirted with is to start an inter HAG war (we saw recently with the high profile deaths causing tensions which we know who is behind it) and if this fails ensuing public revolt will make this possible (whom are learning of his clandestine plan after a series of brazen open provocations).
You can also see this plan from his speeches/actions, he spoke out against Berbera but not the UAE deals for Bosaaso/Kismaayo, he is privately undermining Sakiin Baraawe and has stopped Hiirshabelle Ceel-Macaan port.
He was part of the group that persuaded IC to cut funding to Somaliland over SSC region, he is collaborating with clannist hard-line daroodist Faroole (like himself) to remove Gaas, the same plan is in motion to do the same with madoobe, we know the great blunder speech in Jubaland when he said the people should unite with "puntland" then quickly corrected himself.
Horaa loo yiri tuug intaa aan la sheegin buu isa sheegaa iyo nin labo faras mar wada fuula, futadaa dillaacda, these duplicity's have not gone unnoticed to the general public and the likelihood of it backfiring is very great.
This is balkanization on steroids, Ethiopian currency is being used now in many regions in Somalia unprecedented before, the evidence and writings are on the wall, all the people filling their ministerial positions have 'balwad' most of them drink alcohol, everyone knows this, you know a man by the type of people he chooses or surrounds himself with and the bulk of them are alcoholics.
Farmaajo is more and more losing the confidence of the somali people.
It's all due to the nepotism shown by the PM who has appointed a large amount of Murusade to roles.
Other self inflicted issue are NISA, shanboolise the maniac, and weakness leading to appeasement.
If this administration fails like HSM thats that.
Then Time for everyone to fully fully go our separate ways and maybe or maybe not get Balkanized and frankly who the f*ck cares we shown we can't govern bunch of s
People like him is the cause of chaos just fucking chillShut the hell up, and give the man a chance. Stop embarrassing reer diini, you don't own that name.

It's really disgusting, when there are people dying of tahriib and this guy is sitting safely in the West. Let's give the new government a chance, if we refuse to govern ourselves then foreigners will do it for us. I don't understand how Somalis don't see what's at stake here. We really need to try and save this country.
People always have something to say to boost ther own egotistical interests the saying you can't please everyone really shows itself in this postIt's really disgusting, when there are people dying of tahriib and this guy is sitting safely in the West.
