Fascinating documentary about the great medieval traveler, whether he did go all the way to China or not. I was shocked to know that his published book was written by a novelist, a prison mate of his. He narrated his story orally to him or dictated it. What???? Did Polo not write a journal?
Anyway--i personally believe he did travel purely on one incident that happen his story. He was taken to Mongol king for breaking a law of walking with a Mongolian female which broke the law of gender separations. Surprisingly the king- instead of punishing Polo, he gives him a job as a tax collector then a prestigious job. The idiot Mongolian officer who probably set him up, and probably was a xenophobe was very disappointed to see his prisoner not only NOT punished but promoted. This officer died of alcoholism from this issue. Which kind of really tells me this world is for the White man. He gets an automatic respect even from medieval kings.
Which brings me to the universal story or reality we live in. Are we living in a novel written by God? If a man wrote the novel of this world, by today humanity would have been living in mars, star trek type reality. Basically, a heaven in earth, But God does not want earth to be a heaven, God already created a heaven paradise. So this earth and world has no free will. Be warned, be good and be righteous- that is the voice of the author- God.
