I agree this is so true. I don't get how we went from having pride in our skin and hair to hating it. I feel like especially back home they watched too much Bollywood films so we have other peoples beauty opinions making our people hate themselves. Living in the west we see people try to emulate cadaan beauty standards but people need to take pride in their hair type and skin.

We have been infected with numerous foreign identity crisis viruses.

The main culprits on the war path are Arabs and other non Cushitic Africans.

Many in these groups love to falsify our identity and impose their world view on us.

This has to be rejected.

I do think some are actually. I've never had a fellow Somali tell me I don't look somali but these Ajnabis seem to know our phenotype better than we do and want to start discussions about it.

It's usually somalis who started the conversation and ajnabis just copy them.

It's usually mothers that push their sons to marry light skin Somali girls, give me 2-3 weeks of sun and I tan like crazy, it's due to our genes, most Somalis are mariin if they take care of their skin.

Personally I have preference for our darker Somali girls.

I always wanted to be mariin or dark skin, they have the nicest most even toned skin and usually really pretty hair to match. Somali features paired with dark skin is so beautiful walahi
