Fighting in Beledweyne between Hirshabelle and Hiiraan state

It’s not even Abgaal fighting. It’s Hawadle vs Hawadle. We need to put our own people in check. We will not allow horgals to dictate our future.

3 hawadles were killed today that were working for Hirshabelle. Their bodies are displayed in public for their subclans/hirshabelle to collect.
Apparently, its the first time xawaadle ever did this. This is according to others.

Weren't you hawadle going buck wild about abgaal on abgaal, now it's hawadle horgal vs hawadle first wadani? But funnily enough U don't apply this same equation to abgaal internal war
Abgaal internal war is constant. This is the first time XL has stooped this low but abgaal kill each other every so often. This is a unique circumstance. What do abgaals kill each other over? Definitely not ridding themselves of a parasitic federal state

Its only a 'parasitic' federal state when you're not president yaabka yaabkiis. We only resort to this inner city fighting against FGS and would definitely not go to this extent because of a xawaadle man. Guudlaawe gacana u taagay the average abgaal cismaan doesn't care about whats going in Hiraan honestly

Its funny how people in this thread claiming a few reer miiyi skirmishes is similar to 2 sides fighting with heavy weaponry such Zu23s in a densely populated city during ramadan lol

Delusionial

You will never one up Abgaal politically. And its only Guudlaawe putting you through this here. Imagine if it was a collective effort sxb.
I meant mooryaano from my clan. I don’t care about Abgaal I just want to put my people in check.

The constitution doesn't allow Hiiraan state to exist because of the two gobol rule. Big sub-clans like Marehan, Murusade, Biimaal, and Gaaljecel don't have much power in the government because they don't lead any federal states.

If Hiiraan state starts, then Gedo state might follow, and so on. This mess could have been avoided if HSM had given different clans more power when creating Hiirshabelle (and the other states). But changing the rules could make things worse in stable states.

Deni wants to disarm militias, but people are worried about what might happen next. The moment any mayor sub-clans that is the majority in any gobol can, creating their own federal state might be more interesting than sticking together.

This will atomize Somali politics, instead of 4.5 it'd become 25.73.

Many fear centralization, but it's important to remember that Somalia has a population of roughly 15-20 million people. The degree of decentralization already in place, along with further decentralization that some advocate for, could lead to an overwhelming bureaucracy, inefficiency, and the proliferation of redundant institutions. Nothing will get done because the tax base of some of these states is so low, using scale because impossible.

In a normal country the taxes of Mogadishu would pay and invest in hydroelectric dams in Jubbaland, which would create economic productive, which can again be taxed and used to fund solar farms in Khaatumo etc.

Fake news. Hiiraan can be its own region.

All it needs is a clause that allows regions that existed in 1960 to be its own federal state. Hiiraan has not been split into two like all the other 7 regions of Somalia.

Knee jerk reaction. You're asking the federal government to change the constitution to benefit you clan specifically. If we are going to use any map of the region it should be the 1990 version.

- Puntland is not going to give up control of north - mudug. Not going to happen.
- States vary widely in size and population
- Khaatumo stops existing, de facto Isaaq take over. Not going to happen.
- This map is a defacto Darood lose, Hawiye marginal win and pretty much spells out a Hawiye - Isaaq government. Not acceptable for the second largest clan in Somalia and largest in all of Somaliweyn.
