This is not the full truth. If you have studied the extremists in Somalia you would know they had been training and recruiting even before the ICU. It was the extremist wing of the ICU that was more armed and prepared. They were one of the main reasons why Xamar was even won from the warlords. It not the full truth to say that the ICU collapse spawned extremists. They were already there latching onto the ICU and infiltrating the higher up positions as well as the religious court positions as well.
