I think the idea of ownership in the west is all gone. For instance 95% of America don't even owe there car they are driving around. Now for housing there will be no homeownership the future people will be renting for weeks and not months anymore .this my prediction for the future. Just look at scifi movies the average America won't have a family in the physical form you'll have virtual family and you'll live in a pod tube that not larger the a twin size bed. People have to have a exist plan.

In the 1950 the average house was two times your salary and the average car was 1/3 your salary.these people in 1950 worked in factory and didn't have all this especially education. The real salary for each person to keep up with inflation is supposed to be nearly 250k --350k. Now in 2025 the average house is 10 times your salary without interest. Once you add Internet your just paying off the Internet and not the mortgage. Now how will you start a family without providing housing. Just look at nature for example birds during the spring time the male bird already has a nest he has built them he a tracks a mate. Now how will you don't that if you can't afford the home to create a family.

No one is expecting anyone to actually own a home before marriage bro. She's mainly talking about a living space people rent.

For example you live with your family still or you live with your flatmates.
Been living on my own for the past 4 years now.

Homeownership isn't gone. Stop being a broke ass nigga. Get a degree and land a decent paying job. Save up for a down payment and get a mortgage for a nice home.

As an American I'm telling you a 300-600k house can definitely be paid off within 20-30 years. All you gotta do is lock in and get your shit together financially. Just maintain a household income that's 6 figures for 20+ years.

We're Muslim, the Majority of us are not okay with dealing with Riba. :manny:

Semi-detached homes in my old neighbourhood are going for 1 million+. Mind you when I spoke to families here they bought it for 400k-500k 16 years ago. And this isn’t even a major city. I’m leaving Ontario.

What areas are cheap with homes like that. Lowkey you can pay that off even faster but just gotta be very frugal.

LG gang we gon slide for my nigga 🤐🥷
I live by myself it gets to a point where as a man you need your own space to unwind and reflect regardless if ur married or not. I make good money and I live close to bunch of clubs all I gotta do is wait till it hits 2am all the spots are closing and the girls wanna get sum dyck and spend the night somewhere that isn’t their mommas house. Why get married when my life is so awesome the way it is rn as a single man?

When I wanna do some really depraved shit I’ll hire a hooker and throw a lil extra bread on top with the condition that I get to do whatever I feel like doing and there’s absolutely no safe word allowed and no chickening out and saying stop. This isn’t something I make a habit out of but a man gotta treat himself plus it’s either I treat myself to this or treat myself to a cocktail of drugs with my spending money.

tl;dr I don’t believe that it’s an obstacle for anyone. I got a cushy job with my own place and I’m still not married. On the other hand dudes in school with a shit ton of debt workin Uber eats living with their momma are proposing to their woman. The only obstacle is if you love her or not if you truly do there ain’t a damn thing that can stand in the way of getting married except for ur mind making u think scared thoughts like a little boy scared of the dark for no real reason.

I've met plenty of Muslim American home owners. These Arabs and south Asians living in the suburbs all got mortgages
I understand, still though, there is a sizeable percentage of Somali Muslims that are riba averse. Without riba achieve social mobility in the west becomes markedly more difficult, ableit still possible.

That’s exactly what i was gonna say like not all of us live in the U.S., we are a lot worse off here in Canada and prospects of moving to the U.S. are looking more and more bleak by the day. My dad bought our house for like a little over $350k now it’s like a $1million in value…..I love our home but it’s literally your basic cookie cutter house, $1million is asinine. Nowadays condos/apartment in my city are going for $500k+…

Nigga not all of us live in the U.S. :mindblown:count yourself lucky.

Canada is a game of survival of the fittest atp and on top of that this country is heading down a never ending downwards spiral. Everyday I tell myself this country cannot get any worse and I am proven wrong. I personally have decided to hell with the rat race and it’s either I find success on my own or bust (aka kms). the conventional path of “getting a degree and a job” is dead as a doornail in Canada, good LUCK renting on your own and paying off those student loans let alone getting your own house:heh:.

Once I attain success im getting tf up outta here the only question is where

Same my Aabo and Hooyo got my house for that price now it’s 1 million??? If you are going to spend 1 million for a home it should be a mansion. They really destroyed Canada for us. Even rent costs so much. Paying 2700 for a 1 small bed room and a small living room. What’s also crazy is that wages aren’t even going up idk how they expect us to survive.

welcome to the pod living. instead of having a room in apartment you'll share a room with multiple strangers and you'll live in a pod. This is how they want you to live in the west. Give it 10 years everyone will be living like this . The next generation will never know what a house is or even what the word ownership mean. Id suggest you just sell that house while the economy is good and move to kenya and work remote for the west or start a business

Nice to hear. If you have own spot, what would be the obstacle for you , unless you’re already married
