My uncle told me that Silaanyo was one of the Somali leaders that called the Dubia hospital minutes after AY had passed and later gave BBC interview about the man’s legacy. AUN Mujaahid Silaanyo.

No matter how long we live on this earth we are bound to leave everything we strive and worked hard for. This is a brutal reminder to turn back to Allah.
You have to give it to the Landers. They built a country for themselves and they stay and die there. How many former Southern leaders died in their country? Give them independence so I can leave this hellhole too
The funeral of the Fourth President of Somaliland, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo, brought together the largest number of attendees ever seen at a state funeral, with people gathering from across the Horn of Africa and around the world. This turnout reflects the outstanding leadership he demonstrated during his lifetime.
Among those who participated in offering condolences were national leaders, delegations representing various countries including the UK, Ethiopia, and Djibouti traditional elders, religious scholars, intellectuals, and some of the prominent business leaders in the region, including the Chairman of Dahabshiil Group, Haji Mohamed. During the funeral, some media outlets interviewed the CEO of @Dahabshil Group, Abdirashid Duale, who expressed his condolences to the late president's wife, children, extended family, and everyone affected by the loss. He added, "May Allah grant him paradise."
