The political system is set up so that anyone who does make it to the top is corrupt. To be the president you don’t have to show any prior accomplishments. As long as you’re charismatic enough and can lie effortlessly you will make it to the top. This is why you find so many psychopaths in politics because they possess those traits. A psychopath president can easily lie to the population and if it needs be they can genocide whoever they need to genocide all while not feeling a single thing in their conscious. With all the skullduggery in politics Its almost like the political system weeds out the good guys while only allowing the very bad guys to the top.
