Futuh al-Habasha: Somalis As Bedouins

Here is Manfredd kropp text. He made it clear Malassay were mostly from Ahmed Gragn’s family and were Karanle. He used Arab Faqih and Sarsa Dengle chronicles with Mekuria and Ahmed Shami’s understanding. It makes sense because reer Hobat were always the militant branch of Ifat. They would eventually take over from the Walashma who were weak and too submissive to Abyssinia

Wasn't he the same guy who also said Nur Ibm Mujahid was Somali (of the Marehan clan)?
There is only 1 reference which belongs to cerulli’s who himself states “marexaan oral history claims”. It is this 1 reference that is used again and again in different formats, texts, gifs etc. Amir Nur has nothing to do with Marexaan because he would have taken Garaad Hiiraabu’s position to lead the MX when Hiiraabu fled the war towards the Hawiye countryside as stated in Futuh. Amiir Nur is closely linked to Gurey as some of the locals during Richard’s visit said

Gragn’s descendants and relatives, such as Wazir Abbas, Amir Talha, Gerad Jibril, Sultan Mohamed Ibrahim (his brother) and Imam Mohamed Al Qazi (later ruler of Harar), all Karanle, had all gone on to carry the flames of war to form the Aussa Imamates after Nur ibn Mujahid and Uthman Al Xabashi which makes it even more likely that Nur ibn Mujahid was a relative of Gurey.

Yeah I wasn't sure of his qabil but I knew for certain that he was related to the imam which itself is strong proof that he is Somali

Pages of 30 and 50 of the Futuh refers to Nur's Father as Suha.
Along with that you have the Chronicles of Gelawdewos that says Nur is Suhaweyn.
Combine that with the oral traditions Cerulli was able to collect, safe to say Nur ibn Mujahid ibn Ali ibn Abdallah Suha was in fact Mareexan

You haven’t proven anything. There is not a single known MX leader buried in Harar in the last thousand years. Suha has nothing to do with Marexaan.

You literally have amir nur’s clansmen roaming the outskirts of Harar visiting his grave day to day. Amiir Nur’s burial site alone which is located near the eastern gate proves he was from Erer Hawiye as that’s where the gate leads to.

Your burial location indicates where the saint/amiir/imam etc originated from.

Perfect example is used here ⬆️. Fadis is south while Baabili is east where most prolific leaders hailed from.

Even within the Harar Zone the eastern part is called Erer Hawiye. Aw Cumar, Ali Keno etc and countless others are old Karanle figures buried within the Harar special admin zone.

I go into more debt in this thread taking into account the erer gate, leadership burials, market place, the oldest mosque and everything else.

Erer is Irir Samaale?

No it’s one of the many subs of Karanle. There are Hararge lands called Hawiye Gudde (where Hawiye conquered) Erer Gudda (where Erer conquered) and Erer Hawiya. All these medieval towns and districts are within Harar special administrative zone. They are east of the old town when you leave the infamous erer gate. It’s where most leaders are buried and where Gurey is believed to hail from.

Idrc what qabil Nur Mujahid was from but whats the evidence you base your claim on beyond location. Ive seen sources for Ahmed Gurey but not for Nur Mujahid being karanle. I don't doubt just wanna know

Scroll through this thread. It’s impossible for him to be marexaan when you have people related to Amir Nur living within sight of where he is buried. The city clerk of Harar is Gidir. The same clan that lay claim to amir nur and also the very same people who have the oldest section of Harar (Gidir Magala) named after them.

There is also the Erer woreda in the Sitti zone, where the Gurgura primarily reside. This typically indicates that the area is predominantly inhabited by Somalis, mainly from the Dir or Hawiye clans.

Places named "Aw" usually signify the presence of a saint's tomb.
