Not all of mudug. South mudug and galgaduud are suffering from lack of rain and has very limited water sources. Thats one of the reason sacaad and saleeban moryaan are causing trouble with the mighty cumar mahamoud they hate the fact that all the ground water is located in between Burtinle and Galkacyo (north mudug)

South mudug is by far the dries part of mudug. The picture you posted is xaraardhere which is located near the coast south of hobyo Most coastal tuulos are doing fine.

Most of the wells and ground water is located in between Burtinle and Galkacyo, Garacad and the nugaal border. This is one of the reasons sacad and saleeban have been trying to cause conflict with us. We karbash them several times in 2015 and 2016 for trying to cross over to our side. And now nomads from south mudug are pouring into northern Mudug as 'refugees' after the 2016/17 drought which is essentially just these drought striken nomads begging us to harvest in fertile northern mudug


We will kick these leeches out soon inshallah

Another thing is Northern Mudug has a lot of spillage from the famous nugaal valley

Although these are some great ideas, I'm saying that it's easier said than done. We can't just gather water... the high temperatures will result in evaporation. Arid soil is susceptible to erosion. We can't just dump water onto dry soil as it will run off and cause more trouble than it's worth. ... I'm no expert but I'm guessing we'll need some sort of irrigation method that slowly drips water. And that is very expensive if we're talking about large areas of land.

There are other things to consider besides water e.g. maintaining what little vegetation there is. Deforestation (we rely on heavily on charcoal) and overgrazing of animals is turning the land into a desert.

Anyway, whatever system is used needs to be sustainable. A supportive govt will definately help. And money and labour. That's why China has been successful.
