@SPMLegend most of Somali Islam came from Harar anyways, and they're considered the fourth holiest learning centers of Islam and they were Sufis. Baghdad was sufi. Andalusia was. All the sunnah areas practised sufism in their golden age from 9th century till the ottomans fell. Some Somalis then relocated to egypt to learn but that is very 'recent' from early 18th century maybe due to the decline of harar to oromo invasions and so forth.
By the way I do read Sufi scholars from their golden period 'wax kasto waqti wanaag ah dhinaca islamka waan aqriya' but i only select my text in periods I know they had enlightment, I just don't bother reading from modern dark age islamic scholars because I know their tied to the hip by their saudi funders who are tied back to british agents wahabists.
I know the british selected the najdis cuz they were the dumbest area of saudi and wanted to destroy the ottoman empire by opening up many war fronts on them in the middle east. The british even used Somaliland as a base and that's why sayidka invaded to save it as ottoman sphere. The british empire was a nasty piece of works that has left the islamic world gripped in a dark age, ever since they came, the muslims have reverted to the weakest and most useless countries in the world.
I suspect Somali ancestors are rolling in their grave as they witness somalis following dark age islamic scholars who were founded by a colonial power which even up untill the sayid was fighting the british to ensure the ottomans still controlled the red sea.
Majerteniya and Hobyo sultanate even refused to ally with british because we knew they were at war with Islam especially when they started attacking the sharifs of mecca and exiling them thru najdi foot soldiers that they armed. Waryaa SPM, I am well versed in Islamic history
