I also suggest they secure Hiran who has two way trade with PL, they bring agriculture and Garacad should serve them their imports and export needs.

Hiraan needs to buy its storage warehouse in the industrial zone allocated to storage and transport fleet.

How will this work when DDSI is only exporting livestock? Most of that will go to Jeddah and transit time will be significantly longer.

It's quite neglible considering truck fuel cost to berbera compared to Garacad, plus the shipping costs are shared per cargo volume, unlike truck transport costs. DDSI made a wise decision, I hope the trade continues to grow further. As for Shipping, those who are collecting livestock(the companies in the gulf), they pay their own shipping costs, fuel and storage needs, u think DDSI will πŸ˜†

Plus the exports shipping are paid for by the companies seeking the produce not the traders.

I saw Hiiraan businessmen already visit Bosaso and Garacad a while back. They've been using Bosaso already.

Your really silly sometimes like a child that's needs an ass whooping. Bosaso and Garowe have modern airports and the best airport in Central region to Mogadishu is Galkacyo(siyad barre inheritance). 2 container ports in Bosaso and Garacad.

I read recently a Gas plant is in the pipeline also which is reducing the prices of current lpg stand alone tanks. A beautiful centrally connected grid network of pipes to house connections.

A Big ass high pressure pipes will be laid in all major roads(to unify the transmission multiple areas) and then smaller load pipes(according to usage estimates) to residential areas, houses will need to then purchase their house connection pipe and necessary meter to home.

When I hear infrastructure,

it's the key marker that separates developed and undeveloped countries. Plus that infrastructure will change lives in the masses unlike hotels or apartments. HDI indexes will start to rise making them attractive to investors. Bring it on soft(schools, hospitals) and hard infrastructure(roads, ports, clean water, energy backbone, drainage, sewage). This shoots up people lives and quality by the millions and makes the whole market attractive.

70% of the livestock trade is during Eid times. Lots of shipments back and forth. Garacad is twice the journey to Jeddah than Berbera is.

Truck fuel is only really cheaper for Wardheer and maybe Qabridahar.

Pretty large share of the livestock in those two also this article says 7 regions so basically not including Sitti Dhagaxbuur Fiiq and Faafan

You aren’t counting imported goods either.

Not just Garacad, the taxes are being waved on Bossaso port as well. Should have thought of that before you gave into your old irir looting impulse sxb

Bosaso and Garacad will never engage in looting people's properties, anyone with any sense would rather do business there. Nobody harms even the Isaaq when they go wild, as there are plenty of them working as waiters etc.

Berbera is the same place where they called it an "Irrir Samaale" port. The same place where they refused to accept Somalis fleeing Yemen, Somalis that are from South Somalia btw.

I also remember when they harassed a Samaroon lady in Berbera and did something to her trucks.

Long story short; only a fool invests in "Somaliland".

March is when we will find out I guess. That will tell us what will happen in June, and that’s when we will get our final answer if there has been a change in the status quo.

Has there ever been a reer Somaliland waiter in Bosaso except Mohamed BK? Or is this a generalisation.

Nope.

Most of the waiters I saw back home are Isaaq. I don't knock the hustle, but your people do rely on the hated 'Faqash' for money and guess what, we don't bother them nor do we seize their assets.

Garacad can export livestock but it's cheaper through Bosaso as has been analyzed by thegoodshepherd. Bosaso is a shorter distance to the gulf and livestock requires less feed during voyage. I used to engage in significant FKD battles where I presented official UN data showing Bosaso was exporting more livestock than Berbera, this will certainly now happen again.
